A few weeks ago, we took Noah into the city to talk around a little art fair. We've taken him into the city before, but this was our first time taking him in by train. We decided against taking the car for a couple reasons:
- the train station is pretty close to church where we were before going into the city
- the weather was amazing
- we thought parking was going to be difficult
- our friends from upstairs do it all the time
The day wasn't really a disaster, but there were definitely a few things that didn't go our way. First, Noah woke up around 8:30 and didn't really nap until we got home around 3:30. I wasn't really surprised by this since he doesn't like to nap in his stroller. There's not really much we can do to get around this other than not going out for long periods of time, but then I think Yilin and I would go crazy. We ended up taking turns carrying him.
While the weather was really amazing, having to carry around a sleeping 16 pound boy made the amazing weather turn into a sweaty situation. I'm not complaining, but I'm just worried about what the summer's going to be like when the weather is just straight up hot.
Anyway, while it's not impossible to take Noah in by public transport, I think taking the car would still be my first choice.
