Noah turned one month this week. I can't believe how fast the first month has gone by. It's hard to tell how much he's really grown since I see him everyday, which is why the first month's checkup is particularly exciting for me. It's a chance to really see what his progress is.

Noah was born at 7 pounds 6 ounces. Today, he weighed in at 11 pounds 10 ounces. Wow! That's pretty much a pound a week. In more ridiculous terms, it's like increasing your weight by more than 50% in a month. He also grew about an inch longer.

All these numbers don't really make sense on their own. The interesting bit is how he stacks up against other babies.

  • Weight: 90th percentile
  • Height: 50th percentile
  • Head size: 50th percentile

In other words, Noah's average sized except for his weight. The funny thing is that he doesn't really appear to be overweight. Maybe he's just building up a ton of muscle. I'm not sure.

After the doctor's appoint, we took Noah for a little walk around the park and to our favorite cupcake store for a little snack. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can have longer outings and maybe even go hiking.
