A long, long time ago

How did they take care of babies? I'm talking about the days that predate diapers and cloth. I'm talking about cavemamas and cavepapas.

The best I can think of is that they wrapped their little ones in animal hide. The other opinion that was voiced to me over dinner was that cave parents were just always covered in feces. The need to constantly wash up also explains why civilizations colonized around bodies of water.

Logical, but I don't buy it...
